Hanna Instruments HI-1040 is a pH Edge electrode made for the wine industry. A crucial factor when producing consistent and quality wine is monitoring the pH. The pH level can affect the taste, colour, oxidation, protein & chemical stability, and yeast fermentation. The wine could be spoiled quickly if it has a higher pH (above 4.0) because it makes the wine chemically unstable and it's a breeding ground for bacteria. The HI-1040 electrode to be used exclusively with the HI2020 Edge hybrid meter. Ideal for a sample that measures from 0 to 80℃. Data e.g. sensor type, ID and calibration information is stored on a built-in microchip. This data is automatically retrieved by the Edge meter once the electrode is plugged in. The HI-1040 has stored pH calibration information e.g. calibrated buffers, date and time etc.
Benefits
- Spherical glass tip
- 3.5 connection
- Easy to use
- Glass electrode body
- Double junction reference
- CPS sleeve junction
- 6 months warranty
The HI-1040 features a spherical glass tip, CPS sleeve junction and a double junction reference. To prevent clogging, this electrode uses Hanna's unique Clogging Prevention System (CPS™). Clogging can impede the measurement circuit between the internal reference and the indicating glass electrode. This can cause a slower response time, frequent electrode replacement and erratic readings.
