The AquaSnap™ Total swabs are designed to rapidly assess the standards of hygiene and equipment sanitation processes. These swabs also assess the efficiency of Clean In Place (CIP) systems by detecting the presence of organic contamination from microbial and product residues.
The AquaSnap™ Total swabs have a honey-comb shaped dipper which is coated with an agent that aids in sample collection and extraction of ATP from microbial and other organic cells. This specifically designed dipper tip collects 100 µl of water ensuring consistent sample collection. AquaSnap™ Total is easy to use, economical and gives you real-time results. Simply collect your sample, activate and place it in your Hygiena instrument for cleanliness results in 15 seconds.
Total ATP and Free ATP are two different measurements of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which is a molecule that serves as the main energy source for cells.
- Total ATP measures all forms of ATP present in a sample, including ATP bound to proteins and cellular debris.
- Free ATP measures only the free, unbound form of ATP in a sample.
Quick CIP Sanitation Check
With the AquaSnap™ Total swabs, the sanitation teams can check the cleaning efficiency of CIP systems quickly. Simply sample the water from the last wash of the CIP cycle, activate the swab and read the results in your Hygiena® luminometer. If the swab detects that ATP is present in the water then the cleaning cycle is not properly removing residue and the surfaces are still dirty.
These AquaSnap™ Total swabs contain liquid-stable chemistry in the patented Snap-Valve bulb. The design and unique chemistry eliminate the need to reconstitute lyophilised pellets which enables consistent results. The High powered chemistry in the AquaSnap™ swabs is an ultra-sensitive formulation which delivers precise results for low levels of ATP. The AquaSnap™ Total's chemistry is resistant and robust to harsh samples or sanitiser effects.
