Hanna Instruments HI-98163 is a portable pH and temperature meter designed for meat products. The HI-98163 is supplied with an FC2323 electrode, specifically made to measure pH in meat. This electrode has a conic tip and a stainless steel piercing blade to ensure easy penetration to resist clogging. It has a Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) food-grade plastic body to resist most chemicals and solvents.
The Hanna HI-98163 unique CAL Check™ alerts the user to potential problems in the calibration process. Food processors will find this very important as the probe is likely coated with the solids found in the food sample being measured. Once the probe is coated, it could lead to errors in the pH measurement. Another of the HI-98161 features is AutoHold. Once enabled it will warn the user when a reading is not within the range of calibrated pH values. The Log-on-demand mode lets the user save up to 200 samples which can then be recalled or transferred to a PC.
